WebFX's 2026 guide to content marketing pricing reports these ranges.
| Option | Reported cost |
|---|---|
| Content marketing retainers | $1,000 to $20,000 a month |
| WebFX's own content plans | About $1,800 to $6,000+ a month |
| Freelance writers | $1,000 to $10,000 a month, or $60 to $200+ an hour |
Our folios sit toward the lower middle of the agency band, with adult-specific care built in: safe-for-work writing and claims checked against evidence. The work itself is described on content marketing, SEO content, copywriting and landing page copy.
| Folio | A typical month |
|---|---|
| Draft | A small set of new or refreshed pieces, each from a written brief, edited and checked against your evidence, plus a short note on what performed |
| Edition | More pieces each month across guides, product and landing copy, a maintained voice guide, email copy, and a monthly call |
| Library | Edition's work across several brands or a large back catalog, with quarterly planning and a single named editor |
The exact number of pieces in each folio is set on your quote. Longer guides count as more than one piece; short product descriptions are batched.
Draft suits a brand with a few important pages to put right and a steady trickle of new ones. Edition suits a brand that wants to be heard regularly in search and in inboxes, with copy for launches and seasons as they come. Library suits groups with several brands, or shops with hundreds of products whose descriptions need rewriting. The free sample edit usually makes the choice obvious, and if Draft is enough we will tell you.
Folios are billed each month in US dollars at the rate on your quote, and work beyond the folio, such as a rush job, an extra brand or a translation, is only ever charged after you approve a written estimate. Committing for three, six or twelve months locks in the reduced monthly rate until the term ends, which suits brands with a steady publishing plan and a clear list of pages to write; after any committed term, either side can end a folio with thirty days' written notice. Once an invoice is paid, the writing produced under it is yours to edit and republish. The full terms, read under the law of India unless a signed quote says otherwise, are on our terms page.
WebFX puts content marketing retainers at $1,000 to $20,000 a month in 2026, and its own plans at about $1,800 to $6,000 or more. Our plans sit inside that band.
One guide, one product or category page, one landing page or one email of up to about 1,500 words. Longer pieces count as two.
Two rounds of edits per piece are included. Changes to the brief after writing starts count as a new piece.
You do, once the invoice is paid, including the right to edit and republish it anywhere.
